My Little Robot

As you read the Rules of the Mind article below, I believe you will have a greater appreciation for just how powerful your mind is; keep in mind we always move in the direction of our present, dominant thoughts and with desire and discipline to create change, you will create change.

Rules of the Mind
Rule number 1: Every Thought or Idea Causes a Physical Reaction.
- Worry triggers change in our stomach - angry thoughts stimulate our adrenal glands, increasing adrenaline in the blood stream. Anxiety, negative stress and fear have a direct affect on our mind-body-spirit connection; studies have shown that you can not separate the mind-body-spirit connection.
- Ideas that have a strong emotional content, almost always reach the subconscious mind, (our ‘feeling mind’). Once accepted, these ideas continue to produce the same bodily reaction over and over again. In order to eliminate the chronic - negative reactions, we must reach the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is a ‘mind-body’ modality, permitting direct access to your subconscious mind – allowing permanent and healthy changes to be achieved.
- How are your thoughts personally affecting you and your health?
Rule number 2: What is Expected Tends to be Realized.
- The brain and the nervous system respond to mental images – (positive and negative images). The mental images formed in your mind become the blueprint that the subconscious mind uses; we then ‘act’ to carry out those images, (impressions).
- Life is a self-fulfilling prophecy – a person usually gets what he or she expects. Because our positive mental expectancy is a subconscious mental expectancy, ‘we become what we think about’. Our physical health is fundamentally dependent on our mental expectancy. What the mind expects to happen tends to be realized; negative expectations equal dead end thinking and have a negative impact on our lives.
- Are your thoughts and beliefs affecting your expectations in a positive manner?
Rule number 3: Imagination is More Powerful than Knowledge When Dealing With Your Own Mind or the Mind of Another.
If you can’t see or visualize or imagine yourself doing something or achieving something, you literally will not do ‘that something’.
- Any idea lead by a strong emotion such as love, anger, and hatred usually can not be modified through the use of reason.
- Because imagination is more powerful than knowledge, at Alternative Wellness & Beyond, via hypnosis - reason is easily overruled by imagination.
- We form images and impressions daily in our subconscious mind. In hypnosis, you can form powerful subconscious mages and, you can remove - alter or amend unwanted unhelpful ideas.

Rule number 4: Once an Idea has Been Accepted by the Subconscious Mind, It Remains Until it is Replaced by Another Idea.
Once an idea has been accepted, it tends to become a fixed habit of thinking. This is how habits of action are formed, both good and bad. First comes the thought and then the action follows.
- If we desire to change our actions, we must begin by changing our thoughts.
- With the desire for change, ‘fixed’ ideas can be changed via hypnosis, no matter how long the idea has been present. We act upon ‘that realization’ and we become what we focus on.
- In hypnosis, we can form beneficial, new valuable images within the subconscious mind, and can alter or release and improve ideas, thoughts, attitudes and beliefs that do not benefit us. If we don’t alter unsupportive ideas, we will continue to act on them and they become habits of thinking and habits of action.
- Keep in mind - no matter how long we have had ideas, they can be changed to benefit us. Once self-suggestion has been accepted by your subconscious mind, it becomes easier for additional, valuable suggestions to be accepted and acted upon.
- Do your habits of thinking enhance or hinder your successes?
Rule number 5: Each Suggestion Acted Upon, Creates Less Opposition to Successive Suggestion.
- Once a self-suggestion has been accepted by your subconscious mind, it becomes easier for additional suggestions to be accepted and acted upon.
Rule number 6: An Emotionally Induced Symptom Tends to Cause Organic Change if Continued Long Enough.
It has been recognized by medical professionals, that negative ideas held in the subconscious mind can affect our wellbeing.
- Many common maladies (headaches, hives, asthma and certain allergies) are often recognized as being emotional rather than being physiological causes.
- If you continue to fear illness and/or continually focus on ill health, in time, organic changes must occur; your worries and fears can turn into anxieties.
- Are your self-suggestions (your self-talk and your thoughts), affecting your health?
Rule number 7: When Dealing with the Subconscious Mind and its Functions, the Greater the Conscious Effort, the Less the Subconscious Response.
- The more you ‘try’ to make something happen, the harder it becomes to accomplish that. Learn to develop a positive mental expectancy that your problems can and will be solved.
- FYI: The word ‘try’, to the ‘inner mind’ means failure; instead, say, “I’m giving it my best.”
Because everything begins with a thought, the human mind can be compared to a diamond mine, it never runs out and is priceless; it has unlimited potential. Author Napoleon Hill noted, “More gold has been mined from the thoughts of men than has ever been taken from the earth.” Most of us spend a lot of time thinking how we want to change other people and make various changes in the world, yet very few of us give significant thought to how we can change our thinking and positively change our lives. Even individuals with strong self-awareness who know the problem lies inside of them, often have difficulty getting to the root of their issue. They desire to change but become frustrated, because they can’t seem to get deeper insight to the problem to make the necessary and beneficial changes.
